Traditional sports competitions of Smolensk power engineers were held February 21, 2015 in the settlement of Verkhnedneprovsky in Dorogobuzhsky district already for the twenty-first time.
This year’s event was attended by employees of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, LLC "Dorogobuzhskaya TPP", a branch of JSC "Quadra" - "Central Generation", LLC "Smolensk Heat Distribution Company", a branch of "SmolenskAtomEnergosbyt" and a branch of "E.ON Russia" - "Smolensk GRES".
As part of the Winter Games the power engineers competed in cross-country skiing, men - for 5 kilometres, women - for 3 kilometres. As an experiment this time winners were determined not in two, but three different age categories. In women, it was the category up to 35 years, 35-45 years and over 45 years. Among men, leaders were distributed over the age of 40 years, 40-50 years and over 50.
In addition, competitions of directors of energy companies and their production units were traditionally held. Each year the organizers come up with a surprise for managers: in 2007 they competed in snowmobile races, in 2008 - in air rifle shooting, in 2009-2010 in archery, in 2011 they had a ski race with obstacles, in 2013 directors competed in biathlon. The competitions in 2015 made it possible to identify leaders among the managers in speedy air rifle shooting.

Smolenskenergo’s employees took many prizes (the first six was awarded). In the individual championship athletes of the teams of "Smolenskenergo" showed good results, having won places on the podium. In the age group for men of up to 40 years the first was a representative of the team of the executive office of the branch, an operator of the Grid Control Centre Alexander Sidorenko. Fifth place went to a master of the eastern section of the power lines service Alexander Latyshev.
The new age category of 40-50 years made it possible to get a well-deserved gold for an annual competition medalist - Head of the eastern section of mechanization and transportation Dmitry Davydenkov. Slightly behind the bronze medalist and fourth place went to Head of the central section of the power lines service Sergey Vakulko.
In the age group older than 50 years the traditional gold was received by a master of Smolensk Distribution Zone Sergey Potapov from the team of West Zone of the electric grids service. An operator of the operation and technology group Vladimir Chibisov took 4th place in this category.
Female employees of the branch showed no less significant results. In the competition of women up to 35 years old an engineer of the eastern section of the power lines service Elena Schedrova has won first place for several consecutive years. Bronze went to a technician of West Service Zone Natalia Shendorova. Fourth and fifth places also went to representatives of Smolenskenergo - Tamara Shapotina (Executive Office) and Margarita Kulachenkova (Smolensk City Distribution Zone).
Among the representatives of the age group of 35-45 years, Elena Sumarina of Safonovo Distribution Zone won bronze, and Head of Economics and Tariff Making Department Natalia Shevchenko took 5th place.
In the age group over 45 years in the traditional top three this time with a silver medal there was a chemical engineer Valentina Sidorenkova, captain of West Zone of the electric grids service. Fourth and sixth places as also went to representatives of Smolenskenergo - an engineer of the Group for operation of information technology equipment Tatiana Bobkova and a technician of Safonovo Distribution Zone Nadezhda Tikhomirova.
According to the results of competitions colleagues from Central Service Zone have the silver in the team standing.
Managers did not stay away from the podium either. Director of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division Sabir Agamaliev in a bitter struggle with colleagues from other energy companies won gold. He brilliantly shot out at the targets and made it the fastest.
Winter Sports Games of power engineers are one of the most important events in the sports life of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division. It represents a healthy lifestyle, competitive spirit and friendly relations of power engineers of the Smolensk region. Conducting such sporting events is a continuation of development of the initiative of the State for the implementation of one of the most important areas of the priority national project "Health" to promote healthy lifestyles of Russians.
