IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division held a solemn meeting devoted to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. Power engineers and management of the branch honoured their colleagues - combatants in Afghanistan, in the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia.
Such events in Bryanskenergo have become a good tradition. To date, 42 combatants work at the branch. Every year, on the eve of February 23, a holiday program is organized for them. So it was this time. For employees, who had the service in hot spots, a sightseeing excursion with laying flowers at the monument to soldiers-internationalists and a festive table were organized.
At the beginning of the meeting veterans of local wars shared their memories about the service, told about today's everyday work. A member of the Bryansk regional branch of the Russian public organization "Russian Union of Afghanistan Veterans", Lt. Col. Grigory Dobrodeev, and Adviser to Director of Bryanskenergo, a member of the fighting in Afghanistan, Gennady Ushakov, addressed to them with words of congratulations and gratitude for the distinguished service. Present at the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Bryansk regional branch of the Russian public organization "Russian Union of Afghanistan Veterans", Igor Yakushkin, told about innovations in the law relating to the rights and interests of this category of citizens.
"February 23 is special date. This is the day of memory and expression of the deepest gratitude and thanks to all those who honestly and courageously fulfilled their military and civic duty to the Motherland," stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division director Roman Stefanov. "We should be proud that we have our own heroes and honour them, as such cases require. After all, courage and heroism do not expire and are worthy of all respect."
