Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre quickly restore electricity supply to consumers in the region

12.01.2015

In connection with snowfall that occurred in the night from 11 to 12 January 2015 on the territory of the region a number of interruptions in Kostromaenergo’s distribution grids was recorded. Repair crews quickly began liquidating technological disturbances from the start of the bad weather conditions.

As of 11:30 a.m. 12 January the power engineers are working to eliminate the technological disturbances in Krasnoselsky, Ostrovsky, Chuhlomsky, Soligalichsky and Parfenyevsky districts of the region. The main cause of the interruptions is sticking snow on wires.

The outages are not widespread and are local in nature. In restoring the power supply for disconnected consumers 15 crews of Kostromaenergo (60 people) and 18 special vehicles are involved. Power supply of some consumers, who are still without electricity, will be restored soon.

Due to poor forecasts availability of emergency crews, communications equipment, machinery and vehicles is provided, constant interaction with hydrometeorological services and EMERCOM units is in place. The power engineers control the situation and are ready to respond quickly to possible failures in the power grid operation, taking all necessary measures to ensure the safe operation of equipment and uninterrupted transmission of electricity to consumers.
