IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division summed up its activity in 2013 in the field of environmental safety. The implementation of measures of the environmental policy in the reporting period Kurskenergo spent more than 2.45 million rubles, which is 28% more than in 2012. Most of the funds went to increase the level of environmental safety in the company's operations, as well as training and personal environmental responsibility of employees. There was also an increase in the volume of funding for the reception and treatment of liquid wastes and removal of solid waste.
As part of efforts to improve the environmental safety of energy facilities the company’s specialists perform routine repair and replacement of oil receivers of transformers, drainage devices and oil-filled equipment. It made possible to eliminate the risk of getting oil into the soil, which has negative impact on the environment. During the reporting period routinely gravel addition under oil-filled equipment at all 35-110 kV substations was also replaced. Used gravel was removed to industrial waste storage.
For the protection and rational use of land used mercury lamps, car batteries and other waste produced at their accumulation were placed in a specially designated area, equipped in accordance with the requirements of the environmental protection legislation. Every six months, the waste is disposed of in specialized enterprises for recycling or burial.
"All activities on environmental safety, which last year were carried out in a comprehensive way in the branch, are aimed at reducing both environmental risks and adverse impacts of power facilities on the environment," stressed the head of production control and safety of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division Alexander Roschupkin.
