Belgorod power engineers prepared electric grid facilities for the holidays and congratulated veterans

08.05.2014

On the eve of the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division checked the electric grid complex of the region to ensure reliable power supply during the holidays.

The power engineers performed an unscheduled inspection of street lighting facilities, painted power equipment, made cleaning of assigned premises.

Many of them were directly involved in the preparation of events at the district level. Rakityansky power engineers helped remodel and equip the Square of Memory, removed an overhead power line of street lighting from its territory, together with the municipal enterprise constructed a cable line, installed and connected 28 floor lamps. And besides, they participated in the planting of new trees, shrubs and flowers.

Employees of Gubkinsky Distribution Zone checked all floor lamps and lighting fixtures of the city park, replaced about 100 old fixtures. They upgraded lighting of the village of Skorodnoye near the Central Park and Youth and Chestnut streets.

In total, in all districts of the region Belgorodenergo’s experts in anticipation of the May anniversary replaced and installed in parks and squares of cities and district centres over 250 lighting fixtures and two thousand lamps, connected festive illumination, provided electricity supply to recreation areas, and, of course, congratulated veterans — those who many years ago defended the peace in the fight against fascism, and then worked for many years in the electric grid of the region.

Eighth and ninth of May the power engineers will become participants of traditional commemorative events dedicated to the Victory Day — meetings, rallies, and laying wreaths at memorials. A particularly honoured symbol of the approaching holiday will be streamed copies of the banner of victory, which since 2011 have been carefully kept in all Distribution Zones of the branch.
