IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division successfully operated the maximum loads

06.05.2014

IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division held a briefing for representatives of the leading print media of the Tambov region, during which Deputy Director for Technical Issues-Chief Engineer of the branch Igor Polyakov told about the results of the autumn - winter peak load operation.

"Tambovenergo" operated through the autumn-winter period in a stable way. Implementation of the plans to repair equipment and reconstruction of substations in 2013 allowed the branch to get its certificate of readiness in a timely manner and to provide stable and reliable operation of electrical networks. Total number of failures occurred in the autumn-winter operation period 2013/2014 was 495, which is 26% less compared to the autumn-winter operation period 2012/2013 (625 failures). Electricity not supplied was 68.15 MWh, the figure for the same period last year was 107.2 MWh.

To reduce the failure rate clearing ROWs along overhead power lines is essential. Over 2013 specialists of the branch actually cleared 406 hectares of ROWs, 12% higher than the targets (361 hectares). To achieve this result was largely due to the use of specialized equipment. In 2012 the branch acquired for these purposes a TERRION tractor and a trailer mower. And in December 2013 the fleet of vehicles of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division added a mobile shredder (mulcher) Rayco C 185, designed for clearing ROWs of overhead power lines from trees and shrubs.

The plan to expand ROWs in the amount of 183 hectares was fully implemented. By the end of 2013 Tambov power engineers increased width of exclusion zones of 45 power lines, clearing it from trees and shrubs with 100% utilization of forest residues.

Last winter the branch of Tambovenergo provided professional assistance to colleagues – power engineers from other regions affected by the disaster. Mobile crews of the branch went to participate in the restoration of power supply in the Moscow, Yaroslavl, Tver regions – and each time they promptly and professionally carried out their tasks. Clearly and coherently they worked in the Volgograd region, once again demonstrating a responsible approach to business, willingness to help colleagues in difficult times.

At the end of the briefing, Igor Polyakov told about plans of Tambovenergo for the summer repair campaign in 2014. As part of its implementation of Tambovenergo will perform a large amount of activities aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply to production enterprises, agricultural facilities, the residential sector, and the social sphere.

"Before the end of the year the branch will repair over a thousand kilometres of 0.4-110 kV overhead lines, 153 transformer substations; will perform a comprehensive overhaul of four substations of 35 kV. The work will also be done at significant power facilities, which supplies the social infrastructure. First of all we are talking about the overhead power lines 110 kV "Morshanskaya -2" and "Kirsanovskaya -2", the 35 kV overhead power line "Tulinovskaya" and the 35/10 kV Substation "Chernitovskaya". Quality execution of the repair campaign will allow to reduce the possibility of an emergency in the autumn- winter peak loads and improve the reliability of electricity supply to consumers in the cold season," stressed Igor Polyakov.
