The event was held in preparation of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre for mass maintenance work under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Engineer – Head of electric distribution networks Office Evgeny Vrazov.
During the meeting the production activity of Distribution Zones in 2013 was summed up and tasks were set to prepare the Tver branch for the season of mass maintenance work in 2014. Thus, in 2013 specialists of the branch performed all the planned activities for repair and clearing ROWs. Comprehensive overhaul of 22 substations of 35-110 kV was performed, 186 transformer substations of 10/0.4 kV were refurbished, 30 transformers of 10/0.4 kV, and over 1,504.27 km of power lines of 0.4-110 kV were repaired. 13,663 insulators, 2,643 poles, 654.3 km of wire were replaced. The power engineers cleared of trees and shrubs more than 4,500 hectares of ROWs along overhead lines of 0.4-110 kV. Over 900 hectares of forest ROWs were widened.
In 2014 the power engineers planned to overhaul 27 substations, to clear about 4,600 hectares of ROWs along 0.4-10 kV overhead lines and widen about 900 hectares of ROWs along 6-110 kV overhead lines.
During the meeting the power engineers also discussed issues of cooperation between the branch’s offices in the implementation of the repair program in 2014.
Chiefs of the Distribution Zones summed up the preparation of departments of the branch for the safe performance of mass maintenance work. To this end, in Tverenergo administrative and technical, operational, maintenance, repair and support staff were trained, briefings, emergency and fire trainings were conducted, and methods of helping an affected by traumatic factors and first aid skills to use the primary means of fire fighting, gas masks, self-rescuers were practiced. Equipping of workers and crews of Distribution Zones with serviceable protective equipment, rigging, fittings, tools and clothing was checked.
According to Evgeny Vrazov, production meetings in person most effectively reflect the work of the Distribution Zones: "During the meeting Chiefs of the Distribution Zones not only had an opportunity to solve production issues, respond to questions and evaluate the work of colleagues of subdivisions, but also to fruitfully exchange experiences. Today's meeting was no exception. It allowed in a constructive way to discuss and assess the preparation for the season of mass maintenance work. At the moment, the main task of Chiefs of the Distribution Zones will be the implementation of technical personnel training, equipping crews with protection gears, instruments, devices for safe work, maintenance of vehicles and special machinery, updating technical documentation, as well as ensuring the safe condition of the equipment."
