In April-May specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division will hold "weeks of electrical safety" for pupils of district schools of the Smolensk region. Power engineers will tell schoolchildren about the rules of behaviour near power facilities, dangers of electricity, organize workshops for resuscitation of an injured with the electric current with a dummy "Gosha" and demonstrate educational cartoons and videos. Pupils will receive vivid visual souvenirs and materials that will remind them of the basic rules of safety near electrical installations.
In early April a "week of electrical safety" already took place in schools of the villages of Perenka, Sloboda and Luchesa in Roslavlsky district, five schools in the regional centre, in Logovsky and Kazemirovsky schools in Rudnyansky district. In late April a course of several sessions on electrical safety was held for pupils of Isakovsky, Narytkovsky, Yushinsky, Izvekovsky and Gagarinsky secondary schools of the Smolensk region. And after the May holidays weeks of electrical safety will be held in schools of the villages of Cherepovo, Boltutino, the settlement of Pervomaysky, school # 6 of the city of Roslavl and secondary school named after P.K. Kozlov in the city of Dukhovschina.
The target audience here is pupils of grades 1-7, it is in the age of 7-13 children are most often victims of their own negligence. Specialists together with school teachers in an exciting and accessible form will tell children how to behave in the vicinity of power facilities, handle electrical appliances, where to call in case of emergency. Educational games and competitions on knowledge of electrical safety rules will help consolidate the learned.
End of the last school quarter is a convenient time for such activities. Summer holiday is coming soon – a period when children are more often left to themselves and spend a lot of time in streets. Therefore, in the final week of the school year electrical safety lessons will be held in many educational institutions: in Dubrovsky, Krasnovsky, Ponizovsky, Kaydakovsky, Bekrinsky, Khlepensky, Khvoschevatovsky and Klushinsky secondary schools, as well as in Kardymovsky boarding school and a cadet corps in the city of Smolensk.
In addition to conducting classes with schoolchildren, the power engineers throughout April showed cartoons on electrical safety at the regional TV channel "Ren-TV Smolensk". It is worth noting that in May there will be a workshop on electrical safety for teachers of primary and secondary education together with representatives of law enforcement agencies, fire emergency and railway services.
The power engineers believe that this package of measures, developed manuals and recommendations, interesting cartoons and colouring books on the topic of electrical safety will help children learn the rules of safe handling of electricity.
