IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division successfully operated through the autumn-winter peak loads in 2013-2014 and proceeded to implement core activities of the repair program. With increasing duration of the day and ambient air temperature rise the average daily power consumption compared with the winter months traditionally declines, allowing to switch off some equipment to be repaired without making discomfort to consumers.
Kurskenergo drafted and approved the schedule of repairs, strict adherence to which will allow to prepare the power equipment for the new autumn-winter period. According to them, to the end of the year Kurskenergo’s specialists will carry out a comprehensive overhaul of 25 substations of 35-110 kV, overhaul of 737 km of 35-110 kV overhead lines and 2,046 km of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines, will clear more than 900 hectares.
Work is in full swing now. To date, the power engineers have repaired 20 transformers in transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV, 23 kilometres of 35 kV overhead lines, 77 km of 6-10 kV and 12 km of 0.4 kV. About 60 hectares of ROWs along 0.4-110 kV overhead power lines have been cleared. Closer to the summer the volume of repairs will increase.
Overall costs of Kurskenergo on the repair program this year will amount to 211 million rubles. About 73% of all repairs are performed with its own forces.
