Consumer Council of electric grid services of Tambovenergo held its first meeting

In Tambov the first meeting of the Consumer Council of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division was held. The Council was created to balance the interests of different groups of electricity consumers, it included representatives of large and residential customers, small and medium-sized businesses, and regional public associations.

Acting Deputy Director for Development and Sale of Services of Tambovenergo Alexander Murzin greeted the gathered. He outlined the current issues for the region's power industry, which the newly created structure will help solve: regulation of activity of grid connection to electric networks, improving the efficiency of interaction with customers, etc. Also, according to Alexander Murzin, the Council should be involved in setting the prospects for development of the power industry of the Tambov region and addressing issues of tariff regulation. In addition, its competence is to give expert evaluation of investment and repair programs of Tambovenergo, develop proposals in improving the grid connection procedure governed by federal and regional legislation, submit for consideration to associations of the business community initiatives of IDGC of Centre and JSC "Russian Grids".

The head of grid connections of Tambovenergo Roman Stanin told about the implementation of the project "Road Map" within the execution of grid connection of consumers to electric networks. The document is intended to make the procedure of power grid connection easier, faster and less costly. The solution to this problem will improve the investment climate in Russia due to the inflow of capital.

Further elections of Chairperson of the Council were held. By public voting Valery Uvarov – Deputy Chairman of the Tambov Regional Public Movement "Revival of Tambov Land", a member of the Public Chamber of the Tambov region, was elected.

Summing up the first meeting of the Consumer Council of Tambovenergo, the participants were unanimous in their opinion that the creation of this structure was timely and a useful step towards a constructive dialogue between the final consumer of electricity and grid organization.

Large customers of newly connected facilities will be able in an expeditious manner to solve issues with power engineers regarding the grid connection. In turn, the grid organization will be able to convey to them its views on the organization of this work, stressed Chairman of the Council Valery Uvarov.

Establishment of the Council is a positive signal to the business community as one of its main tasks is to assist in solving problems of energy infrastructure in the Tambov region. In addition, it can become an effective instrument of public control over the activities of subjects of the regional energy market, believes Chief Power Engineer of a branch of OJSC "MTS" in Tambov Roman Minaev.

The next meeting of the Consumer Council of Tambovenergo is to be held in June. It will discuss problems of payment for redundant power and ways to resolve them.
