Belgorod power engineers have removed illegal advertising from power line poles

September 16 in the individual housing construction micro-district «Razumnoye-71» staff of IDGC of Centre — Belgorodenergo division held a campaign to remove advertising placed illegally in the protected zones of overhead power lines.

The power engineers inspected the micro-district of individual buildings and removed from the poles all advertisements hanging on the unacceptable distance from the wires of overhead lines and cable networks.

Such random placing of advertisements not only spoils the appearance of new micro-districts, but also is unacceptable from the point of view of the federal law. In accordance with the Rules of electrical networks protection, approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation, to ensure electrical safety it prohibits any manipulation within two meters of the 0.4 kV line.

«Trying to advertise their services, people install signs at all of the free space of power line poles, reaching up to the line wires. Unfortunately, such violations are found in the mass in new estates of individual housing, where advertising of building materials and work is in demand,» underline experts of IDGC of Centre — Belgorodenergo division. «None of the advertisers coordinate their actions with power engineers. But advertising on the power line is not only illegal but also unsafe, since it may result in electrocution.»

Organizers of the campaign emphasize that advertising should be placed on special advertising structures, information booths, or simply designated areas, so as not to spoil the appearance of the city and the region, but, most importantly, not to become a threat to the life and health of citizens. A reasonable way out of this situation may be creation of special places for this kind of advertising for organizations with the permission of the authorities.

Today, all power line poles in the individual housing construction micro-district «Razumnoye-71» have fully been removed from the advertising garbage. But the power engineers warned that in case of repeated violations of security zones the advertisers will bear administrative responsibility.
