IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division continues to work on the grid connection of facilities located on the territory of the regional centre being built in the neighborhood «New City». This will be an extensive residential complex with multi-family houses and social facilities, located across the Volga river.

In August 2013 Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre provided electricity to a large shopping and entertainment complex, located in the future neighborhood with the capacity of 3000 kW. To implement the grid connection two additional bays with vacuum switches were installed at the 110/35/10 kV substation «South».

At the same time, work is underway on the connection of apartment buildings. Under the terms of grid connection contracts the power engineers have already installed a distribution point, started up the construction of two transformer substations, laid new cable lines. According to the whole project there will be 6 transformer substations installed in the district. Electrical energy to the distribution substation and transformer substations will be fed from the 110/35/10 kV substation «South». The necessary electrical power for the newly constructed facilities is 4000 kW. The facilities connection will be phased and is planned for 2013 — 2014.

In addition, the power engineers also plan to supply electricity social facilities. The Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre has already received an application for grid connection of a kindergarten building for 280 children.
