Smolensk branch of IDGC of Centre has provided reliable power supply to the children’s camp «Eaglet»

The staff of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division continues to pursue a plan of grid connection of social facilities to the 1150th anniversary of the city of Smolensk. The jubilee program provides for the construction of new facilities in the premises of the children’s holiday camp «Eaglet». To connect a dormitory, dining, sports arena, medical centre with a sickbay to the networks of the branch the reconstruction and construction of cable lines and transformer substations was performed in a short timeframe.

In accordance with the approved project a package 160/6/0.4 transformer substation was installed with a data collection and transmission unit. From transformer substation TS-265 the construction of a 6 kV cable line was made.

In view of the special significance of the social facility, increased operational and technical and environmental safety requirements were brought to the construction of the power grid infrastructure. Thus, the installed transformers are hermetically sealed to prevent leakage of oil in the soil. The cable runs inside a laid brickwork earthen trench, along with some extra width to compensate for possible deformation and displacement of the soil. While laying the cable the installation of terminals was provided, which will increase the reliability of the cable network. A lightning protection system device was installed at the substation building.

After the completion of the reconstruction the children’s camp «Eaglet» will be able to take for recreation more than 1,900 children every year.
