Electricity supply of Smolenskenergo increased by 24.5 million compared to last year

For 6 months in 2013 the electricity supply to the grid of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division totalled 2.126 billion kWh, an increase of 24.55 million kWh compared to last year. The growth of the electricity supply to consumers amounted to about 26.95 million kWh for industrial enterprises and 4.64 million kWh for residential customers.

It was made possible to achieve this level thanks to the organization of work to reduce energy losses. Smolenskenergo’s specialists performed phase load balancing in distribution networks, replacement of overloaded and underloaded transformers. Today the branch is doing a great job on the program of modernization of AMR, which also provides the speed and accuracy of meter readings and identification of the exact amount of electricity transmitted.

The largest consumers of the company at present are OJSC «Russian Railways», SUE «Casting and Rolling Plant» of the city of Moscow, LLC «Gazpromtransgas St. Petersburg», and OJSC «Dorogobuzh».

«The increase in electricity consumption is due to the improved economic situation in the Smolensk region and the increase in the payment discipline of the population,» commented on the results of six months the head of power transmission Office of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division Janna Danchenkova.

Overall in 2013, IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division plans to supply to the grid more than 4 billion kWh of electricity, at this the losses should not exceed 14.91%.
