During 5 months of 2013 IDGC of Centre — Lipetskenergo division received 597 applications for grid connection of outdoor lighting fixtures. Most of them were requests from Krasninsky and Lebedyansky districts characterized by high investment attractiveness. Currently 485 contracts are being executed by specialists of the branch, within which the power engineers will connect 620 fixtures to their networks.
To implement the task of grid connection of outdoor lighting fixtures Lipetskenergo will install 100 new reinforced concrete poles, about 36 km of wiring and also 44 street lighting control and metering boxes, designed for software control over the operation of lighting fixtures, and automatic diagnostics of street lighting and metering equipment.
While performing the modernization of street lighting the focus will be on the use of modern equipment, which meets standards of reliability and energy efficiency. Construction of power lines will be performed with the use of reinforced concrete poles and wires with self-supporting insulated conductor, which differs from the bare wire with greater reliability. In the street lighting fixtures sodium and modern LED lamps will be used, which allow to save up to 50-90% of electrical energy.
Completion of the grid connection is planned for later this year.
Lipetskenergo offers the further development and maintenance of outdoor lighting as an additional service. At present, in the service area of Lipetsk power engineers there are 28 contracts for maintenance and development of outdoor lighting networks, under which 2,240 lighting fixtures are served. The main customers of these services are municipalities of the Lipetsk region, responsible for life necessities and improvement of human settlements.
