Kostromaenergo brings together students and graduates

IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division had a tour for students of automated systems and technology from the Kostroma State Technical University. In the Grid Control Centre deputy chief of operational and technological management Pavel Tikhonov spoke about the prospects of development of supervisory control in the company, the benefits of modern equipment, which the Grid Control Centre is equipped with, and which today is the most technically advanced in the region.

The students were interested in different issues: the possibility of remote control over substations, collection and transmission of operational data, the operating principles of dispatching services, prevention and elimination of process failures. The students had huge interest in video cubes with a regular scheme of Kostromaenergo, which allows real-time monitoring the situation with electricity supply to consumers of the Kostroma region, around the clock to control the operation of the equipment of the branch.

Getting to know the company continued in the museum of history of the Kostroma power system. Here, according to a long-standing tradition these students met with alumni of the faculty working at IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division. Electronics Engineer of Category 2 of ADCS Section Konstantin Dyuzhikh and Engineer to calculate relay protection and automation modes Service Dmitry Sarov graduated from the automated systems and technology faculty in 1997. They spoke about IDGC of Centre’s implementation of a global ERP system. The main focus of the speech was on the need for the power company of highly skilled, competent workers with versatile knowledge to use modern and innovative software products.

It is worth noting that from 2003 to 2013 8 specialists were employed at Kostromaenergo — the graduates of this particular faculty. They work as programmers, system administrators, are engaged in maintenance of computer hardware, and work with the AMR system.

IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division and the Technical University have developed long-standing business relationships, and have entered into a cooperation agreement. The work is conducted, including, on innovative joint projects. In particular, in 2011, on the site of the branch an innovation and research work was performed to create an automated control system for self-contained power supply of a building, data collection and visualization of technological processes.

«We are actively cooperating with the higher educational institutions of the city and the region, especially with KSTU. Classes on electrical safety are conducted, tours to energy facilities are held, and field practice at Kostromaenergo is organized,» noted Head of Human Resources of IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division Nadezhda Muravyeva. «It contributes to both maintaining the image of our company in the region and attracting the best-trained young professionals to the energy sector.»
