IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division is developing a project of reconstruction of the 110 kV transmission line interconnection «Plavsk — Mtsensk», «Mtsensk — Black» and «Black — Plavsk». The energy facility is transit and provides electricity transmission between the Orel and Tula power systems. The line is planned to run on a new right-of-way outside any settlements, in this regard, its length will increase from 52 to 62 km.
It should be noted that the power line was commissioned in 1959 and has now physically and morally outdated, which poses the risk of outages. According to the calculations of power engineers, during a power failure the undersupply of electricity to the grid at night could make 602.4 MW or 964.4 thousand rubles.
The reconstruction will increase transmission capacity of the energy facility, reliability of electricity supply and energy security of the transit.
