Kursk power engineers have started massive repair work

IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division has started massive renovations planned for 2013. The Central Commission, which conducted targeted inspections of production units, concluded that all crews, and there are more than 300 of them, are ready for deployment of work. This is confirmed by certificates of readiness, issued to the units.

At present, according to the approved schedule, the repair work has begun in the substations 35/10 kV «Mokva», 110/35/10 kV «Kilikino», 35/10 kV «Semzavod», 35/10 kV «Stakanovo». Inspection of electrical equipment, cleaning, sealing, adjustment and repair of individual units and components is being performed with elimination of defects that occurred during operation. During the execution of the current repairs a variety of preventive tests and measurements are made to identify and timely eliminate faults of equipment, instruments and devices.

The service of power lines of the High-Voltage Grid Office of Kurskenergo has the big task to repair overhead lines of 35-110 kV. Just this month they have to repair more than 117 km of overhead lines and to replace about 250 insulators, to clear more than 13 hectares of ROWs along 35-110 kV overhead lines and replace 9 reinforced concrete poles.

In general, in 2013, IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division is to spend more than 199 million rubles on the repair work.

«The season of massive renovations is a very demanding time for Kursk power engineers,» says Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division Alexander Rudnevsky. «In a short period of time it is necessary to do a lot of work: to maintain electrical equipment, train staff, hold necessary exercises, so that in the upcoming autumn-winter period to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers.»
