Belgorod power engineers have begun performing massive repair work

13.05.2013

Belgorod power engineers have successfully passed their certification and started massive repair work at electric grid facilities. Appropriate certificates of readiness were handed over to heads of structural units by Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre — Belgorodenrego division director Roman Tkachenko.

The readiness of crews to perform massive repairs on the eve was checked by special commissions. They monitored the staffing with necessary clothing, footwear, protective equipment, fixtures, devices and tools, analyzed the state of vehicles and machinery, the availability of technical documentation and provision of all crews with stable communication with operators.

All operational and operational and maintenance personnel have been trained at training centres and special simulators, have had practice in the performance of routine switching, work place preparation and permission of crews to safely perform work in electrical installations, and also worked out techniques to provide first aid to an injured person.

Particular attention is paid by power engineers to safety in the places of work classified by the branch as «highly hazardous», where performance of any type of activity requires increased control and attention. With the same purpose, the commissions checked the status of all 35-110 kV substations, briefings holding, emergency and fire fighting training and compulsory medical examination of personnel.

Please, be reminded that this year the staff of Belgorodenergo will repair more than two thousand kilometres of power lines, 110 high voltage and 533 package transformer substations, as well as clear about 1,000 hectares of ROWs along power lines.
