IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division provides stable power supply during the operation through the flood in the Tambov region.
At the moment the situation in the region has deteriorated with melt water passing. Since April 1, due to the rapid melting of snow in the fields in the region a special flood mode was introduced. In recent days, the water level in the rivers of the region has been up to 10 times, but the melt water could not go into the land, which had been frozen at 70 centimetres.
Despite the natural disasters, all power facilities in the service area of IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division are operating normally and provide secure and stable power supply to consumers.
Specialists of Tambovenergo have taken the necessary measures to ensure trouble-free operation and keeping in order buildings, structures and power facilities during the spring floods. To solve the problems a flood commission has been created chaired by Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of the branch Igor Polyakov. The main purpose of the commission is to check the power system’s readiness for the season of spring floods and monitoring of the planned works. The commission has identified facilities that are most exposed to melt water and has done what is necessary to prevent an emergency.
«In every Distribution Zone of the branch first responding and emergency repair crews are operating that around the clock are watching the rise of flood and melt water in the region,» comments the progress of passing the flood Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division Igor Polyakov. «Mobile diesel power plants, machinery, vehicles, communications equipment, fuel and other materials have been prepared that are needed for emergency restoration and elimination of possible power outages.»
Power engineers of the branch have established communication with the local executive authorities, regional flood commissions, hydrometeorological services and General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Tambov region. Lists of power facilities, buildings and structures have been created, which have been exposed to the threat of flooding or flooding of which have occurred in recent years. These facilities will be periodically inspected — as well as places of passing overhead lines across rivers.
For operational, operational and maintenance and repair personnel instructions and emergency response trainings are being held. The order of interaction of Tambovenergo’s units has been determined when a threat or emergency situations occur.
