Yarenergo’s veterans are actively involved in the life of the company

03.04.2013

IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo division held a reporting conference of the Veterans’ Council of the branch, at which participants summed up the activity of the organization for the past year and made a plan for the future. The event was attended by Deputy General Director — division director Igor Solonikov, Chairman of the Council Vladimir Grachev, Head of Human Resources Lyudmila Rozhdestvenskaya and Chairman of the trade union of Yarenergo Anton Sukharev.

At the conference intercom with veterans in Distribution Zones was organized. Thus, more than one hundred people were able to attend the event.

Yarenergo’s Veterans’ Council, which consists of 12 members, was established in 2010. In total the veterans’ organization of the branch includes 769 retired employees, of which 49 people are veterans of the Great Patriotic War: combatants and home front workers.

In retirement Yarenergo’s former employees continue to actively participate in the life of the enterprise. So, last year, with their help a patriotic action «Relay of the Victory Banner» in municipal districts was organized. The Council’s Chairman Vladimir Grachev personally handed a copy of the flag to each Distribution Zone, symbolizing heroism of the Russian people against the invaders. Power engineering veterans were diligently preparing for the solemn celebration of the Victory Day, and the Day of Memory and Grief, June 22, members of the veterans’ organizations laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Representatives of the Veterans’ Council are not only the guests of honour at all events of Yarenergo, where they have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of colleagues, to congratulate on a holiday, but they are trusted to judge at the annual competition of professional skills. Last year, veterans helped to evaluate the performance of diagnostics crews.

Regular meetings of former employees of Yarenergo with the management of the branch are held. From the first persons of the enterprise veterans learn about the latest production achievements and plans of future development, and they make suggestions for improvement of distribution networks, based on their years of experience.

The plans for 2013 — holding excursions to the museum of Yarenergo and new facilities of the branch. Veterans will tell students, pensioners and visitors from other regions of the major milestones of the Yaroslavl power system, as well as current production capacity of the branch. Traditionally, veterans will act as judges in the competition of professional skills, will help in checking the knowledge of power engineers during the Days of Safety. The branch can still rely on its veterans both while organizing festive days and events to mark memorable dates. The nearest of them are the All-Russian action of planting trees «Let’s save the energy of forests» and the anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

«Thanks to the work of our veterans we maintain continuity of generations. These people are involved in the development of the power system in Yaroslavl, and today they are willing to share their experience with new generations of power engineers. For this we thank them very much,» stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo division director Igor Solonikov.
