p>The main item on the agenda of the report-election meeting of the Board of Veterans of IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division was the election of new members of the Board. It includes nine power engineers who have worked for the company for twenty years or more. Ivan Shevchenko was re-elected Chairman of the Board – a power engineer with 47 years of experience.
The meeting started with congratulations of veterans who will soon be celebrating anniversaries. Three people in this year's will step over their 90-year old mark.
Further, reporting to the gathering, Ivan Shevchenko told about the events that had been organized by the Board in the past year. In particular, there was work performed to create a contact database of power engineering pensioners, who they now have constant communication with and a collection of information was organized about the history of Orelenergo for its museum archives. Collected data were included in the book «Electric lights of Orel land», which was published by the branch to the 55-year anniversary of the Orel power system in December 2012. In addition, last year for veterans of Orelenergo a tour was held to the Orel woodland, to the Krivtsovsky memorial in Spasskoye-Lutovinovo and Kleymenovo to the grave of Mr. Fet. Power engineers also took a trip to visit their fellow veterans of Kurskenergo and former chief of Livensky Distribution Zone, a war veteran, Nikolay Flerov was in Volgograd at the parade, dedicated to the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.
Concluding the meeting, the head of HR Office Marina Yakovenko assured the veterans that in the future, as always, they will be provided with financial support under the current collective bargaining agreement of IDGC of Centre.
The Board of Veterans of Orelenergo is elected every three years. The main objectives of the public body are mentoring in various aspects of our company’s operations, as well as interaction with the Youth Council, trade union, territorial veterans« structures of the region. At the moment the Board of Veterans of Orelenergo take care of 570 former employees of the company.
