Kostroma electricians of IDGC of Centre will be trained to fell trees

28.01.2013

IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division has the first training of personnel under the program “Tree feller”. From January to April 2013, 150 employees of the branch will be trained. These include masters and electricians from 27 Distribution Zones of Kostromaenergo. Upon completion of the training, each will receive a certificate of assignment of the second (related) profession.

“Recently Kostromaenergo has been actively involved in clearing ROWs along power lines, and the increased amount of work is performed using its own resources. Last year we trained personnel safety during such operations. And we have the retraining in the area ‘Felling trees’ for the first time. It is aimed at learning technology of work,”- tells the head of HR of the branch Nadezhda Muravyova about the new course.

The training program for fellers was developed by experts of further education of the Kostroma Power Engineering College after F.V. Chizhov. During the training staff of Kostromaenergo will study the design and operating techniques of felling tools and devices, rules and schemes of mechanized clearing ROWs along overhead power lines, techniques to perform complex operations on tree felling. In addition, special attention in class is paid to the rules of safety, industrial hygiene, fire safety, as well as the basics of first aid in case of accidents.

The basis of the course will be a practical training that learners will have in the environmental and biological Centre “Sledovo” under the guidance of the Centre’s director. For practical training a lot of the forest in Sudislavlsky district was given out.

“Theoretical information is not only important in the training, but especially practical skills of work. It is them that our masters and electricians work out in the classroom under the guidance of experienced trainers of the Kostroma State Technological University and the Kostroma Power Engineering College after F.V. Chizhov. Industrial practice in accordance with the program takes longer than classroom training,”- comments the head of distribution networks Office Alexander Chutkov.
