Within the priority areas of activity of the branch on electrical safety and prevention of electric injuries power engineers on a regular basis conduct lessons for schoolchildren in Voronezh, planning to further extend this experience to all Distribution Zones of the branch.
The lesson program is constantly being improved in the interests of children, particularly their perception of information. For visualization lessons on electrical safety are accompanied with demonstration of images of power facilities, warning signs installed on them. Pupils are actively involved in the lesson, ask questions, share their stories on the subject, and have training to provide first aid to a mannequin with electric shock.
According to Leading Engineer of technical and production control section of production control and safety Office of IDGC of Centre — Voronezhenergo division Dmitry Dorovskikh the cultivation of careful handling of the electric current should be started at an early age. “Our work aims to give children an understanding of the danger of being at facilities of the power grid company, to improve their competence in handling electrical systems, to teach correct actions in emergency situations,” — he stressed.
