Yaroslavl power system has added a new facility

05.12.2012

IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo division has commissioned switchgear of 6 kV at the substation 35-6kV “Riverside”. This has increased the reliability of power supply of the city of Uglich, and subsequently will provide electricity the Uglich sluice-gate, adjacent to the dam.

In November, in a modular building on the premises of the SS “Riverside” the work was completed on installation and commissioning of a new substation control building, combined with switchgear of 6 kV.

In the modular building there are bays installed with vacuum circuit breakers, voltage and utility transformers, microprocessor-based relay protection and automation devices. The 35 kV equipment control has also been powered directly from the new switchgear.

Before the facilities of the regional centre were powered from the transformers directly. Now, they are connected to the sectionalized switchgear of the substation “Riverside”. This improves the power quality and makes the power supply of Uglich consumers more reliable.
