Smolenskenergo has been put on high alert in connection with the passage of a cyclone

According to the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia, 29-30 November, with the passage of a cyclone in the Smolensk region rain, sleet, wind 15-20 m/s is expected with wet snow on wires, icy roads, and freezing rain is possible.

In this regard, the operational headquarters of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division were convened headed by the director of the branch Sabir Agamaliev. Smolenskenergo has introduced high alert mode to ensure the reliability of power supply. Staff of responsible managers and specialists of the branch is on duty around the clock. Emergency repair crews in all 26 Distribution Zones of subsidiaries of the company. 68 crews (253 people) and 68 special vehicles are on duty, in case of power interruptions for consumers, connected with consequences of the weather conditions, within 2 hours the staff may increase to 192 crews (1013 people) and 307 special vehicles. 46 backup power sources have been checked, which are at the disposal of the branch. If necessary, forces of contractors may be attracted.

In the service area of Smolenskenergo special control has been established over the operation of power facilities, and interaction has been set with territorial divisions of EMERCOM and executive bodies, enterprises of FGC UES, operating companies of IDGC Holding, and other territorial electric grid organizations.

The Contact Centre works in emergency mode: the number of operators on duty has been increased, including “in-home operators” who take calls around the clock via the single Direct Power Hot Line at 8-800-50-50-115.
