Kostromaenergo was distinguished by EMERCOM of Russia

Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre — Kostromaenergo division director Alexander Glebov for his personal contribution to the development and improvement of the activities in the field of civil defense was awarded the medal of EMERCOM of Russia “Marshal Vasily Chuikov”. This departmental award was released to the 80th anniversary of the Civil Russian Defense.

Medal “Marshal Vasily Chuikov” is awarded to employees of EMERCOM, having a length of service in the department at least 10 years, as well as other citizens for many years of impeccable service to the cause of civil defense, improving management, communication and alarm for civil defense forces, the maintenance of a high degree of readiness to act as intended.

Marshal Vasily Chuikov — Soviet military commander, Hero of the Soviet Union. During World War II he commanded the 62nd Army, which showed particular heroism in the Battle of Stalingrad. After the war, Vasily led ground forces, and in 1964 he became head of the Civil Defense. Chuikov was awarded the title of Marshal on March 11, 1955.

Alexander Glebov is the chief of power engineering rescue and light security service of in the Kostroma region. The power engineering rescue and light security service is intended to provide reliable power supply to the population and economy of the region, the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of natural and man-made character at economic facilities in times of peace and war, as well as to perform organizational measures in full blackout to ensure the shutdown of outdoor lighting of the city, region and economic facilities for signal “Air raid”.

At the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the anniversary, Director of Kostromaenergo noted that at different stages of its history the civil protection system successfully performed various tasks. Today the civil defense complex is aimed to protect people, not only at war, but also from the devastating effects of a natural disaster or man-made disaster in peacetime.
