Interaction of IDGC of Centre — Smolenskenergo division and Republican Unitary Enterprise “Vitebskenergo” has been going on for several years. In the autumn of 2011 in the Vitebsk district of Belarus, the first international gathering of young people of Smolenskenergo and Vitebskenergo took place, where it was decided to continue and develop cooperation of the youth of the two power companies.
A year later — in the autumn of 2012 — the youth of Vitebskenergo arrived at Smolensk land in return. Financial support was provided by trade union organizations of the enterprises. The event was also held to share experiences of power engineers of two states in the field of innovation and production activities, and development of the scientific potential of young employees.
Additionally to the Youth Council of Smolenskenergo and young employees from Distribution Zones the gathering was attended by colleagues from branch of JSC “Quadra” — “Western Generation” PP “Dorogobuzhskaya CHP”, LLC “Smolensk TSK”, SU OJSC “Elektrotsentromontazh”, CJSC IC “Electroluch”, branch of JSC “Quadra” — “Western Generation” PP “Smolenskaya CHP-2”, OJSC “OSRAM”, and OJSC “Smolenskenergoremont”.
The gathering was opened by managers of Smolenskenergo and youth leaders. Welcoming remarks were made by Chairman of the Vitebsk regional organization of the trade union of power, electrical and fuel industry workers Alexander Zhedik and Chairman of the Smolensk regional organization “Russian Electroprofsoyuz” Elena Prudnikova.
“We are always ready to cooperate with colleagues from other regions and countries” — underlined Chairman of the Youth Council Alexey Magon.
The program of the gathering included joint roundtables on several topics. The first two topics covered prospects of cooperation development of the youth of Smolenskenergo and Vitebskenergo in social policy and in the area of science, technology and innovation. At the third round table young power engineers discussed the problem of improving the working methods of trade unions. The last topic — funding of youth councils’ activities, dedicated to issues of innovation, development of scientific potential of young professionals in the workplace, interaction of the employer and the trade union in the implementation of youth policy, social support for youth at enterprises.
The program of the gathering traditionally included an intellectual game “What? Where? When” in which mixed teams competed in knowledge of power engineering, trade union activities, general and technical questions. A friendly volleyball match was also held, where the Smolensk youth team confidently won, which also included representatives of the weaker sex.
From interesting forms of uniting games Smolensk youth offered the advanced mobile teamwork game “Lasertag”, which was particularly memorable to the participants of the gathering. At the end of the meeting an agreement on cooperation of the youth of Smolenskenergo and Vitebskenergo was signed and souvenirs were exchanged. For RUE “Vitebskenergo” a tour was made to show memorable places of the hero city of Smolensk. On the way back they visited the State Memorial Complex “Katyn”.
“After comparing the energy systems of Russia and Belarus with new eyes, you see particular features of your company. It was interesting to hear about the differences of the trade unions of other organizations, but the most vivid impressions were left with the most interesting tour of the city that even the rain could not spoil, and the friendly game of volleyball, in which the forces of the contenders were almost equal,”- shared his impressions of the gathering Member of the Youth Council of Smolenskenergo Anton Kazakov.
