IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division was distinguished by EMERCOM of Russia

Achievements of IDGC of Centre and its Kursk branch in the area of ​​prevention and liquidation of emergency situations were distinguished by EMERCOM of Russia.

On summing up the activities of the Kursk regional subsystem of the unified state system of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations (Emergency Management System) in 2012, IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division director Alexander Pilyugin was awarded a mark of distinction of EMERCOM of Russia. In a solemn ceremony the medal “Marshal Vasily Chuikov” was handed over to Alexander by Head of EMERCOM of Russia in the Kursk region Vasily Zubkov.

Kurskenergo pays much attention to the organization and implementation of measures for training of personnel actions in emergency situations. Each year, the branch holds about 200 emergency response trainings. Several times a year Kursk power engineers of IDGC of Centre are involved in joint exercises with the operational and dispatching personnel of EMERCOM of Russia in the Kursk region, a affiliate of SO UES Kursk TCC, an affiliate of FGC UES Black Soil Region PMES, JSC “Quadra” — “Kursk regional generation”, JSC “Kursk electric networks” and the executive authorities.

Among the organizations that create first responding and rescue units, IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division has been repeatedly distinguished as one of the best. Kurskenergo implemented a videoconferencing system with the Centre for Crisis Management of EMERCOM of Russia in the Kursk region, and operates a system of electronic information exchange. Upgraded Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo allows to monitor the power system of the Kursk region in real time and in a timely manner to correct and eliminate possible technological failures and faults, and coordinate operational staff.

The branch’s staff is equipped with necessary material and technical resources. Emergency repair crews have electric safety gear and personal protection, as well as modern specialized vehicles and facilities, allowing to quickly locate and eliminate any technological violations, including consequences of emergencies and accidents.

Presenting the award, Vasily Zubkov thanked Kursk power engineers of IDGC of Centre for the good work and wished not to lose the set bar.

Alexander Pilyugin stressed that the medal — it is an achievement of the entire team of Kurskenergo, which for many years has been holding the title of the best link of the Emergency Management System in the Kursk region.

Commemorative Medal of EMERCOM of Russia “Marshal Vasily Chuikov” is the departmental insignia of EMERCOM of Russia and established in honour of two-time Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Army Vasily Chuikov, who from 1961 to 1972 headed the EMERCOM Service.
