Belgorodenergo conducts classes on electrical safety

09.10.2012

For the Teacher’s Day IDGC of Centre — Belgorodenergo division organized a campaign “Lesson as a gift”, giving teachers and schoolchildren on the eve of holiday a cycle of lessons on prevention of children’s electrical injuries. Classes in urban and rural schools in all parts of the region are held by power engineers. And the main idea of these lessons — fostering a culture of safe handling of electricity in the home, safety in the street, and next to power facilities.

Power engineers acquaint schoolchildren with the rules of electrical safety, pay attention to safety signs and posters placed on power facilities, talk about the inadmissibility of penetration into transformer substations, premises of power facilities, power line poles, on top of garages and houses where there are wires and communication. Schoolchildren receive advice on behaviour in situations where the electrical wire is slack or broken, learn to get out of the danger zone without any damage to their health.

According to statistics, in comparison with other types of injuries, electric injuries most often lead to severe burns and deaths. So children have to remember that power facilities — this is not a playground. Memos, cartoons and videos, colouring books are intended to assist in this, which experts of IDGC of Centre — Belgorodenergo division prepared on the topic “Electrical Safety”.

“At school, a course on life safety is taught, but no teacher, no textbook can tell so vividly and with visual examples of electricity, about the danger that it carries — shares her impressions Deputy Director of Lyceum № 9 in Belgorod Tatiana Dedilova. — About the lesson I can say that this is important, useful and necessary.”

Belgorodenergo believes that avoidance and prevention of electrical injuries — the best way to combat them, so it is always ready to assist in conducting lessons to prevent electrical injuries. To help teachers power engineers prepared a toolkit, developed jointly with the Belgorod Regional Institute for training and retraining of specialists — a collection of the best lessons, and a DVD-ROM on the results of the regional competition “The best lesson on electrical safety”.
