Orel branch of IDGC of Centre is actively preparing the network for the winter

28.09.2012

IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division is actively preparing for the upcoming autumn-winter period.

To date, Orel power engineers have repaired 153 kilometers of power lines of 0.4-110 kV, maintained more than 40 transformer distribution centres and 38 transformers of 10/0.4 kV, renovated 33 substations of 35-110 kV.

In order to reduce outages in the distribution network of 10-0.4 kV 456.8 hectares along power lines have been cleared.

The program of repairs and reliability improvement of networks was made by specialists of Orelenergo based on analysis of outages last winter. Much attention is paid in it to addressing the identified problems. In addition, the branch is creating a collection and transmission of information system from substations. This will enable staff to receive more data on the status of power facilities and respond to probable emergency situations.

In order to ensure safe operation of the staff and avoid false switching at 58 substations protection safety interlocks are being installed. At 88 substations arc protection is being installed, which allows while there is short-circuit current to quickly locate the fault and thus prevent a large-scale outage.

The reconstruction of the transit substation 110/35/10 kV Zalegoshch is under way, which is the link between the Mtsensky and Livensky power centres.

In total IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division has spent about 207 million rubles on the repairs and modernization of power facilities of the branch in the first half of the year.
