The former Chief Engineer of Poshekhonsky DEN of IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo division Alexander Sumkin awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Poshekhonsky municipal district”.
A native of the Poshekhonsky land Alexander P. Sumkin began his career in the power engineering profession in 1972, when he was taken to work as an electrician at the substation 220/35/10kV “Poshekhonye”. Then there was work in Selenergo and other enterprises related to energy. In 1985, Alexander Sumkin — an employee of Poshekhonsky District of Electrical Networks (DEN) of Yarenergo. He first served the district networks as a senior master, and then deputy head of the DEN — the chief engineer. Two years ago Alexander retired.
The assignment of the honorary title to the power engineer is recognizing the merits of Yarenergo in the development of power grid facilities of the district, and above all, emphasizes the degree of personal involvement in this process of the former employee of the DEN. When Alexander worked a strong team of power engineers was created in Poshekhonsky District of Electrical Networks, capable at a high professional level to solve their tasks. Deputy Head of the DEN was directly involved in the reconstruction of electrical installations, replacing poles, restoration of cable lines and installation of outdoor lighting.
Before his retirement, Alexander left the most important to his colleagues — his years of experience and an example of responsible attitude to work. He was frequently referred to for advice, asked to help or show, and he sought to teach the young everything that he could and knew. His work was repeatedly highly appreciated at the regional and national level. Alexander Sumkin was listed in the “Book of Honour” of the enterprise, he was awarded the title “Hero of Labour” of Yarenergo", awarded Letter of Gratitude and Diploma of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Russia.
Poshekhonsky district has always treated power engineers with great respect. Local residents and municipal authorities regularly thank staff of the DEN for their difficult work. And last year the title of honorary citizen of the district was received by the former Head of Poshekhonsky DEN Dmitry Svyatov.
