In the first half of 2012 the productive supply of Yarenergo amounted to 3.5 billion kWh

07.08.2012

For six months in 2012 IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo division transmitted through its networks 3.542 billion kWh of electric energy. This is higher than the same period of 2011 by 44 million kWh. The increased productive supply is due to the connection of new customers and reducing losses in the networks of the branch.

As part of measures to optimize the losses for six months of this year the branch were switching off transformers with small loads at substations with two or more transformers and at substations with the seasonal load. Yaroslavl power engineers replaced two overloaded and underloaded transformers with a total capacity of 70 MVA. Experts of Yarenergo replaced the existing 0.4 kV feeders with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) with a length of 35 km and 11 kilometers of SIW were installed as taps into residential homes.

An effective way to optimize the losses is the elimination of violations and the use of new technologies in commercial metering. In the first half 127 common house meters were installed for multi-family homes, 358 delivery points were changed for billing with common house meters. Under the program of the automation of commercial metering systems in the retail market today 7703 delivery points are equipped with modern meters.

In general, the positive effects of implementing measures that reduce electricity losses in the first half of 2012 totalled 16.5 million kWh against the previous year. In addition, 2.3 million kWh of non-contracted electricity consumption was sold.

“If we compare the reporting periods of this and past years the total energy consumption of our customers remains the same. Therefore, the main factors in the growth of productive supply were the grid connection of new customers and successful policy of the branch in the field of optimization of losses”, — stressed the head of electricity delivery Office of IDGC of Centre — Yarenergo division Alexander Komyagin.
