Investments in the grid complex of Orelenergo in the second half will be 470 million rubles

In the second half of 2012 IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division plans to invest 470 million rubles in the electric grid of the Orel region.

Construction of new power facilities will be financed in the amount of 105 million rubles. 305 million rubles will be allocated to improve the reliability of the grid with modernization and reconstruction. It is planned to spend 60 million on the grid connection of consumers, including residential customers and small businesses.

In the second half power engineers are implementing a number of significant large-scale projects for the region. In particular, the work will start on an external power supply of the industrial park in the Mtsensky district and individual housing estates in Orel and Livny districts of the Orel region.

In addition, the investment program provides for design and survey works on reconstruction and new construction of several power facilities in the south-east of the Orel region. The purpose of the work — to provide a second source of independent power supply for the Livensky power center, which will reduce the power shortage in the district by 30 MW.

An essential part of the investment program is to improve automation, telemetry and communication systems, which make it possible to significantly increase the efficiency of operators’ services. It also will continue the implementation of energy saving and energy-efficient technologies, in particular, the project for implementation of the AMR system for retail electricity market. Overall, in 2012 the capital expenditures of Orelenergo will exceed 655 million rubles.
