Representatives of the Councils to work with the youth of IDGC of Centre – Bryanskenergo division and Kurskenergo division held a solemn meeting in commemoration of the heroes who died in World War II, and planted trees on the Partisan meadow near the village of Smelizh of Suzemsky district in the Bryansk region. The event took place within the action of IDGC Holding and IDGC of Centre - "Relay of Victory Banner" and "Save the energy of the forest".
Smelizh - a small village 25 kilometers from Suzemka. It is called the "guerrilla capital". During the war, a partisan evacuation hospital worked and the newspaper "For the Motherland" published here. In Smelizh the song "Bryansk forest roaring severely" was first performed, which later became the anthem of the Bryansk region.
Representatives of Bryanskenergo and Kurskenergo not by chance decided to hold the solemn meeting and to plant trees on the Partisan meadow. By this action the young power engineers pay tribute to the soldiers who during the war liberated their homeland from the Nazi invaders. The Bryansk guerrillas participated in the Battle of Kursk, undermining Nazi echelons of manpower and equipment. But not only this is common for the Kursk and Bryansk regions. One of the three fronts, taking part in the battle of Kursk, was called Bryansk.
The solemn meeting was opened by Head of Human Resources Office of Bryanskenergo Natalia Galanova. She introduced the guests of the meeting - Head of the administration of Suzemsky district Nikolay Khrapaev, Deputy Head of administration of Suzemsky district on Social Affairs Alexey Lebedko, Chief of the Suzemsky District of Electrical Networks Alexander Kiriyenko, former Chief of the Suzemsky District of Electrical Networks Victor Kiriyenko, who for over thirty years headed the Suzemsky District of Electrical Networks, the villagers of Suzemka, as well as guests from Kurskenergo.
— We gathered at the place where during the war years fierce fighting took place to pay tribute to the heroes who won the victory. In memory of this as a sign of gratitude and deep respect for the heroes of today, we are planting trees on the Partisan meadow. The memory of the feats of Russian soldiers lives in the hearts of the younger generation. As proof of these words, we pass an exact copy of the Banner of Victory to the Suzemsky District of Electrical Networks. The same copy will be given to all Districts of Electrical Networks of Bryanskenergo — Natalia Galanova assured.
The gathered held a minute's silence in the memory of the fallen soldiers. The former head of the District of Electrical Network in Suzemka Victor Kiriyenko told the guests of the meeting on the fighting that took place in the village of Smelizh during the war, the current head of the District of Electrical Network Alexander Kiriyenko held a tour for the young power engineers to the restored guerrilla dugout. The representatives of the Suzemsky district administration thanked Bryanskenergo for the fact that the branch held patriotic actions that contribute to the continuity of generations and preserve the memory of the feats of our countrymen. The final stage of the meeting was the planting of birch trees near the memorial on the Partisan meadow near the village of Smelizh.
Representatives of the Youth Councils of Bryanskenergo and Kurskenergo told the audience about the work being done at the branches to perpetuate the deeds of heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Young representatives of the two branches have been already working together for a few years. For example, in 2010 and 2011 in the hotel "Pine Forest" open meetings of the Youth Councils of the two branches were held.
