Bryanskenergo is for the safety of children

25.05.2012

A lesson on electrical safety was held at school # 5 in the city of Bryansk. Conducting preventive talks in which children are taught by power engineers about the rules of handling electrical equipment and safe behavior near power facilities is an important area of the Office of production control and safety of IDGC of Centre – Bryanskenergo division.

On the eve of the holiday "Last School Bell" the branch’s staff came to visit the fourth-graders. Head of occupational health and environmental safety Office of Bryanskenergo Valentina Anisimova told the children that electricity is colourless and odourless. The children learned when there is a zone of step voltage and the right way to get out of it. In simple terms, using visual aids - training presentations and cartoons, board games – the pupils were explained why they cannot play near transformer substations and other power facilities, fly kites under power lines. The children were taught safe handling of electrical household appliances.

The knowledge gained by the pupils under the supervision of the employee of Bryanskenergo was solidified in practice - moving with "shuffling" steps, as if going out of a step voltage zone, told how they understood the rules of safe behavior near power facilities.

According to Head of production control and safety Office of IDGC of Centre – Bryanskenergo division Pavel Zlobin the branch’s staff have regular preventive conversations with pupils in schools of the city of Bryansk, as well as in rural schools of the Bryansk region. It is mandatory to hold electrical safety lessons on the eve of summer and winter holidays, as well as prior the beginning of the school year. Such activities help to reduce the risk of children’s electric injuries at electric grid facilities.
