On the eve of the Victory Day Orel started the tenth traditional journalistic motor rally “The Roads of War”, dedicated to Victory Day. The partner of the motor rally is IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division.
Participants of the motor rally will drive along the entire route the historical relics — the Banner of Victory, erected on the defeated Reichstag by the soldiers of Idritsky division in May 1945, which was given in 2011 to be stored in Orelenergo within the historical and memorial event of IDGC Holding — “Victory Banner Relay”. Chairman of the Board of Veterans of IDGC Holding Yury Zhukov handed a replica of the Victory Banner to Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre — Orelenergo division director Alexander Letyagin.
The provided replica of the Banner to Orelenergo will drive along the route Orel — Belarus — Romania — Bulgaria — Greece — Ukraine — Orel. The participants of the motor rally are planning to visit the battlefield and meet veterans of World War II and to hold a series of meetings.
Over the lifetime of the project the participants of the rally will visit hero-cities of Moscow, Volgograd, Minsk, Fortress — Hero of Brest, Sevastopol and Odessa. The event is aimed at preserving the memory of the Great Victory, patriotic education of the youth, involving countrymen to the study of the heroic past of our country through motor tourism visiting places of military glory, reminder of the brotherhood of the Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian people, cemented with the blood of many generations.
