Tambov power engineers of IDGC of Centre told journalists on the results of the autumn-winter period operation

18.04.2012

IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division held a press conference for representatives of regional media, in which the autumn-winter 2011-2012 operation was summed up. The event was attended by Deputy Director for Technical Issues — Chief Engineer of the branch Alexander Zamotay, Deputy Chief Engineer for operational and technological management — Head of Grid Control Center Vitaly Belyaev, Head of customer interaction Office Alexander Demin, Head of analysis and production management Section Alexey Cherenkov.

Opening the press conference, Alexander Zamotay said: “The past winter was a real test of strength for the Tambov power engineers. However, despite all the problems related to the adverse weather conditions, the power engineers coped with the tasks without any long lasting interruptions and supplied electricity to consumers reliably. Thanks to the smooth operation of substations and power lines, efficient planning and performance of repairs the power system was stable during the peak energy loads”.

According to Alexander Zamotay the key to success was the timely repair campaign and effective implementation of investment projects by the branch.

As part of the repair program specialists of Tambovenergo overhauled four 35-110 kV substations, 221 km of overhead lines of 35-110 kV and 901.5 km of overhead lines of 0.4-10 kV. 541.9 hectares of ROWs along overhead lines of all voltage classes were cleared. The ROW expansion along the 35kV conductor “Tulinovskaya” was performed amounting to 20 hectares.

A significant event in the life of the Tambov power system in 2011 was the implementation of a major investment project to supply electricity to Inzhavinskaya poultry farm, whose opening ceremony was held in November last year. On the territory of Inzhavinsky district of the Tambov region within a federal program for the development of agriculture made a set of measures for electricity supply of the constructed poultry complex was performed in record time.

One of the conditions necessary for the branch’s readiness to operate during the autumn-winter period is the availability of the minimum supply level of equipment and materials for possible emergency and restoration actions. At the time of obtaining its readiness certificate the emergency supply of Tambovenergo was stocked at 100%.

A special focus within the actions to ensure the reliability of the electric grid during the peak load operation was given to staff training. During the autumn-winter period Tambovenergo held a series of joint exercises and emergency response trainings with the participation of representatives of General Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency in the Tambov region, local authorities and employees of large resource supplying companies in the region.

The press conference continued within the press tour to the 110/6 kV substation “Tambov #5”, where the journalists were shown a modern power facility that had undergone all stages of reconstruction of its equipment in compliance with the corresponding requirements.

The substation “Tambov #5”, commissioned in 1967, is located in the southern part of Tambov. It supplies electricity to many customers, including two important social facilities — the city hospital after Archbishop Luke and a military hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

The increase of the transformer capacity of the substation allowed not only to ensure quality and reliable power supply of Tambov residents, but also enabled the connection of new consumers, which contributes to further development of residential areas and infrastructure of the southern part of Tambov.
