Bryanskenergo is preparing for the coming fire risk period

11.04.2012

IDGC of Centre — Bryanskenergo division pays great attention to the fire fighting state of its power facilities that are in the service area of the branch. The work to improve fire safety is being performed in preparation for the fire-dangerous season.

The preparations for the summer fire-dangerous period and operation in high summer ambient temperatures in the branch started in April. The action plan was developed taking into account the operation during the fire risk periods in the previous years.

Forces of fire-technical commissions will perform spot checks of the fire safety of facilities assigned, as well as unplanned inspections of fire risk sections of high-voltage power lines. By the beginning of the fire risk period the wooden poles of 0.4 — 10 kV power lines will be dug round, which may be in the zone of possible ground fires, it is also planned to plow the outer perimeter of the substation with a protective strip, whose width is not less than one meter.

Particular attention will be paid to the check, and if necessary, restoration of boundary fencing of oil-filled equipment. Other preparatory activities will be also made.

The staff, performing work on power lines, will be instructed to comply with the fire safety rules. Agricultural producers, whose territory is crossed by high voltage power lines, will be presented a memo with a list of rules of conduct in the territory of protected areas in the location of electric grid facilities.

According to Head of production control and safety Office of the branch of IDGC of Centre — Bryanskenergo division Pavel Zlobin, the main task of the branch prior to the beginning of the fire risk period is to implement all necessary measures to prevent fires at power facilities.
