Veterans introduce the history of Kurskenergo to students

Representatives of the Council of Veterans of IDGC of Centre — Kurskenergo division visited one of the schools in the city of Kursk. At a meeting with sixth graders Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Kurskenergo Dmitry Bozhak and Power Engineer with a 50-years’ experience Valerian Mikhailovich Tsyplukhin told about the rich history of the power system of the Kursk region and the people who stood at the origins of the most powerful industries — electric power industry.

Valerian M. told the pupils about the years of war, in which he participated and was wounded, the qualities that helped him pass the war and after the Great Victory enter the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He worked as Chief Engineer of Turkmenglavenergo and Chief Engineer of Moldenergo. The merits of Valerian Tsypluhin were awarded high industry awards, including the “Badge of Honour”.

“I wish the younger generation to choose a good, useful profession for people. And if, after our meeting, one of the children will want to become a power engineer, our mission is accomplished”, — stressed the veteran.

The children listened with interest to the veterans of Kurskenergo. Dmitry Bozhak told the pupils not only about the importance of electricity, but also the danger that it has. He reminded the children of the rules of the use of electrical household appliances and behavior while being close to power facilities.

Deputy School Director Irina Ilyina thanked the veterans of Kurskenergo for the meeting on behalf of all the pupils and teachers. She expressed hope for the start of a new tradition of holding such events: “The conversation was very warm and informative. Many of the facts from the history of Kurskenergo we did not know ourselves. Our guests are true professionals, vibrant personalities. They were wonderful storytellers, interesting people to talk to”.
