Within the celebration of the Power Engineers’ Day in IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division the honouring of the veterans of the industry was held. This year’s event was a special meeting for the participants, as the Tver power system marks the 75th anniversary of its formation. Over ninety veterans of utilities accepted congratulations and shared memories of the past.
Head of HR Office of IDGC of Centre — Tverenergo division Sergey Zhirkov thanked the veterans for their contribution to the utilities industry of the region, for that force and knowledge, which were aimed at strengthening the energy sector. «While respecting the history and experience of generations, the utilities industry will keep on its leading position in the economic development of the region and the country as a whole».
December 22 for the veterans is a special holiday when there is a chance to meet old colleagues and friends, to remember those who have left a bright trace in the history of the industry. A lot of words were said on that day of the utilities industry in the wartime, because this year Tver celebrated the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the city from the Nazi invaders. Alexey Khazov, a war veteran, spoke about how the power engineers in extremely harsh conditions heroically restored the power system after the city’s occupation.
Chairman of primary trade union organization Sergey Aksakov thanked all the participants for their many years of work for the benefit of the Tver power system and noted that it was these people who laid the foundation of the economy and industry of the region.
