IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division opens its doors to students

IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division held an Open Doors Day for first-year students of Energy Faculty of Tambov State Technical University. Open Doors Day is held annually at the division.

Power engineers acquainted the students with their work, talked about the structure of the division, large power facilities, social benefits, which are provided to employees and prospects for professional growth. The first-year students were able to communicate with power engineers and ask questions.

The students have learned about new technologies in the energy sector from a short film on the activities of IDGC of Centre, which won the contest “Best Video” in the All-Russian competition of professional skills of crews of distribution networks of IDGC Holding in Vologda.

Communicating with power engineers continued with a tour to the museum of history of the Tambov power system. Students learned about the best employees, veterans-power engineers, who contributed to the development of the power system. Young people were impressed by the collection of cups and medals obtained at different sports events in different years. Particular interest was paid to the story about the chief of Kirsanovsky service area of high-voltage substation Office of IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division Igor Glotov, who had recently awarded the honorary title “Honored Power Engineer of Russia”.

Head of Human Resources Office of IDGC of Centre — Tambovenergo division Olga Vyazovova noted: “Students are the future of the utilities industry, so the division pays great attention to work with the youth. It is important for us to show that the utilities industry today is a modern developing industry. The task of Open Doors Days at the division is to keep and maintain respect for the profession of power engineers, to show the younger generation that the work of power engineers is not only responsible, but also prestigious. The succession of generations, sharing experiences, openness to young people is one of the top priorities in training the future personnel”.

In the 2011-2012 academic year Tambovenergo with TSTU continues to implement programs of mutually beneficial cooperation. During training power engineering students have classroom training with the use of modern technology. Having their practice at the company they acquire experience and after graduation come to the company with practical work experience. The best students annually receive personal scholarships from Tambovenergo, which is a great support to talented young people in their effort to learn the secrets of professional skills of the utilities industry.
