On 21 and 22 May, the first in-person School of Commanders of student crews of 20 branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region was held in the city of Kirov. It took place at the Kirov training centre “Energetik”.
The event was opened by Acting Head of the HR Department of Rosseti Centre Yury Kostin. In his welcoming speech, he noted that the crew leaders have been entrusted with a very important task - to organize and set up the fighters so that the summer work shift becomes as useful, interesting and eventful for them as possible.
The training program that the participants of the School completed over two days consisted of both theoretical and practical classes. The students received knowledge of electrical safety and first aid, practiced resuscitation skills on the Gosha dummy and using a mask for artificial lung ventilation. The student crew leaders attended a team building training, participated in an energy quiz and a lesson on the basics of project activities. Working in groups, the crew leaders created their own projects in a couple of hours, and then held a bright presentation of them.
Particular attention at the event was paid to immersing students in the specifics of the profession. During an introductory tour of the Kirov training centre “Energetik”, the School participants inspected the classrooms and laboratories where industry specialists undergo professional training and retraining. The students visited the most modern substation in the region “Urvantsevo” and the training ground for practicing the actions of the energy company’s personnel.
The students visited the Museum of the History of Energy and Electrification of the Kirov Region. The theme of the Great Patriotic War occupied a special place during the excursion program. The leaders of the student crews learned about the contribution of the Kirov power engineers to the Victory, and then honoured the memory of the war heroes by laying flowers at the Eternal Flame.
The event also included a meeting of the leaders and specialists who supervise the work of the student crews in Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region. Its participants discussed current issues of preparation for the summer work season and shared the best practices for attracting young specialists to the energy sector.
“You have worked productively these two days and are ready to lead your fighters in the summer semester. Remember that a student crew is, first and foremost, a team, and leading it is an honour and a responsibility. I wish you to cope with this task with dignity,” Yury Kostin wished the leaders of the student crews, summing up the results of the event.
