07.07.2020

A regional creative contest of energy art objects “Light - 100 years”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the GOELRO plan, has started in the Lipetsk region. The event was organized by the branch “Rosseti Centre Lipetskenergo” in partnership with the Department of Electrical Equipment of the Lipetsk State Technical University and the winner of the last year’s contest - the Lipetsk Metallurgical College.

The contest is held in three categories. All interested residents of the region can take part in it. In the nomination "Firstborn GOELRO" they are invited to present models of historical energy facilities in the region. The “Modern Energy” nomination accepts 3D models of existing power equipment. In accordance with the terms of the most creative nomination, “Digital Future”, participants need to develop concepts for transforming power grid facilities. It can be models of stylized poles, creative lighting installations, projects of urban and regional space in the form of alleys, squares and parks with unusual lighting and architectural solutions.

Creative works will be evaluated by an expert commission of representatives of the Council of Veterans of Lipetskenergo, teachers of the Department of Electrical Equipment of the Lipetsk State Technical University and the Department of Power Supply of the Lipetsk Metallurgical College. The main criteria for determining winners will be the practical functionality of projects, interactivity, thematic content and creativity.

“Such events are very important in terms of promoting the industry. As part of the contest, we strive to interest residents of the Lipetsk region in the electric power industry, to stimulate their engineering and scientific and technical creativity to recreate important milestones in the history of the country’s energy sector and to embody key symbols and significant events in the Lipetsk region in modern grid facilities,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
Entries are accepted until 30 November. Winners in each nomination will be determined on 20 December, on the eve of the Power Engineer’s Day. The best projects will be implemented in the region.
