A meeting was held at Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region under the leadership of General Director of the Company Igor Makovskiy, at which the concept of preparations for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory Day in World War II was adopted.

By decision of Igor Makovskiy, targeted assistance will be provided to non-working pensioners of the energy complex of two companies: veterans of the Great Patriotic War in the amount of 50 thousand rubles, home front workers, prisoners of camps and residents of besieged Leningrad - 30 thousand rubles each.

“Victory Day is a holiday of national pride, courage, bravery and the unbending will of our people, this is a great holiday with tears in our eyes! With honour, Soviet people went through the hardships and trials of wartime and did everything possible to bring Victory Day closer,” Igor Makovskiy noted in his opening remarks. “The memory of the greatest feat in the history of the Fatherland makes us stronger, inspiring new achievements! We must not forget about those tragic days, scorched by gunpowder, which claimed millions of lives, about the tears of mothers who lost their children, about the innocently tortured in concentration camps, about the survivors of the siege who died from a terrible famine. We must remember and pass on from generation to generation the story of the heroism and labour prowess of our compatriots during the war, protect and tell children and grandchildren the historical truth about the exploits of glorious ancestors! Every year, the people who gave us the Great Victory are becoming fewer and fewer. The debt of honour of any patriot and citizen of his country is to provide them with the maximum possible assistance and support. There can be no future without respect for its past,” General Director emphasized.

To date, there are 54 veterans in the regions of the service area, targeted assistance is provided to 285 rear workers, 39 former prisoners of concentration camps and 4 residents of besieged Leningrad. Supporting these courageous people is one of the priority areas of the Company’s social program.

The good tradition of providing targeted assistance from Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region is not limited to the memorable date of the 9th of May. Non-working pensioners of the energy complex - veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, prisoners of camps and participants in the siege of Leningrad are always surrounded by care, attention, financial and social assistance from volunteers-employees of the enterprise.
