Igor Makovskiy took part in commissioning of high-tech facilities of Kalugaenergo

21 December 2021

The solemn ceremony of putting into operation the highly automated 110/10 kV substation “University” and the Grid Control Centre of the Kalugaenergo branch for management of power grid facilities throughout the Kaluga region was attended by Governor of the Region Vladislav Shapsha, General Director of PJSC Rosseti Andrey Ryumin and General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC Igor Makovskiy.

The 110/10 kV substation “University” will provide power supply according to the most modern standards of quality and reliability to an innovative infrastructure project in the region - a new campus of the Kaluga branch of the Bauman University, where 3,000 students are trained. The total transformer capacity of the facility is 32 MVA. The substation is fully automated, which allows to remotely monitor the parameters and control the operation of all equipment from the new Grid Control Centre.

The new Grid Control Centre operates on the basis of a domestic automated process control system that processes more than 30 thousand signals every second. The solution allows real-time monitoring of grid facilities that provide a total of 1.1 million people. The Centre is equipped with automated workstations, digital telephone and radio communications, advanced metering solutions, vehicle monitoring tools, a geographic information system and a meteorological portal for forecasting weather events, as well as specialized software systems for training and testing personnel knowledge.

Addressing the audience, Vladislav Shapsha noted: “I am glad that such a wonderful event is taking place on the eve of your professional holiday. Kaluga power engineers, as always, are at their best: they approach it with a serious backlog, with a serious result. The regional Grid Control Centre and a new substation were opened. Today, together with Rosseti and Kalugaenergo, we use the most modern opportunities so that you - power engineers - can control the situation in real time, and people receive stable power supply. The time for troubleshooting possible problems has decreased, and digitalization will allow us to implement new projects,” Governor emphasized.
Rosseti’s Group took an active part in the preparations for the celebration of the 650th anniversary of Kaluga: the Sports Palace and the new building of the Space Museum were supplied with electricity, the lighting system on the central streets was modernized. We are also completing the anniversary year with two major launches. New technologies used in these projects will improve the efficiency of infrastructure management, which means the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers,” stressed Andrey Ryumin.
“The launch of the new substation and the Grid Control Centre is another significant and important step in the development of the power grid infrastructure of the Kaluga region. With constant interaction with the leadership of the region, we are increasing the capacity of the energy complex and thereby creating a reliable platform for the socio-economic growth of the territories. At the same time, our priorities remain the unconditional increase in the reliability, quality and safety of power supply, as well as meeting the demand generated by our consumers,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
