Stanislav Voskresensky and Igor Makovskiy opened the Centre for Control and Monitoring of Street Lighting in the city of Ivanovo

14 December 2021

Today in Ivanovo, Governor of the Ivanovo Region Stanislav Voskresensky and General Director of Rosseti Centre, PJSC - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga region, PJSC Igor Makovskiy launched the modern Centre for Control and Monitoring of Street Lighting.

As part of the solemn event, the first, second and third stages of the comprehensive Program for development of the street lighting system in the capital of the region were put into operation.

As the head of the energy companies noted, at the moment Rosseti Centre has installed new lighting at 133 and additional lighting at 38 streets of Ivanovo. Increasing street illumination directly affects the comfort and safety of residents and guests of the city. As a result of the full implementation of the Program, about 49 thousand residents of all four districts of the regional centre will see the changes.

“The opening of the high-tech Centre for Control and Monitoring and the expansion of Ivanovo’s street lighting system is one of the vivid examples of cooperation between the Regional Government and Rosseti Centre. Of course, this is just one of the many projects that the company is implementing in the region, but all of them are aimed at ensuring the reliability of the power grid, reducing failures and constantly increasing the quality of services supplied to the population,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

In turn, the head of the Ivanovo region highly appreciated the quality and level of interaction with the management of the Company on the implementation of the Program and noted the high changes of the transformations that took place in Ivanovo over the past year.

“The city of Ivanovo was very dark a few years ago, old sodium lamps were used on the streets. Then we decided to replace all the lamps with more modern, energy efficient ones. On some streets, the illumination has quadrupled according to expert measurements. But the problem did not go away, unfortunately, because lighting was installed only on two-thirds of the city’s streets, including those where there was no light - neither good nor bad. Then we found a solution together with the Rosseti company and the city authorities to fix this problem and bring the number of streets in the city with lighting to 95%. Thus, we should have one of the brightest cities in Central Russia.

The second thing we have recently literally agreed with Rosseti is that we will fully complete the work within the next few weeks. We planned to split the project over several years, starting in 2021, and spend the main part next year. But, you see, the lighting is still relevant right now, in winter, when it is almost half a day dark, and this is also a safety issue. Some of the lines of the final stage have already been installed, it remains to make a final breakthrough,” stated Stanislav Voskresensky.
