Igor Makovskiy checked the work of Tambov power engineers to improve the quality and reliability of power supply

22 October 2021

As part of a trip to the region, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region checked the work of the first highly automated Distribution Zone of Tambovenergo, where he gave instructions to the branch’s management for its further development.

The Tambovsky Distribution Zone became the first highly automated facility in the Tambov region. During the reconstruction and automation of the distribution grid, 61 reclosers, 47 disconnectors with a motor drive, smart metering devices at transformer substations were installed, a digital radio communication system was set up, a system for energy monitoring and control of reliability indicators was implemented.

The head of the energy companies noted that due to the management and technical solutions carried out, it was possible to achieve a reduction in the restoration time of power supply to consumers from 2.75 hours to 1 hour.

When carrying out emergency recovery work, fault isolation using standard methods took an hour and a half, now due to the use of distribution automation - from 1 to 5 minutes, which makes it possible to carry out restoration work in the shortest possible time to ensure reliable power supply to consumers in the Tambovsky district.

To identify potentially prone to non-metered electricity consumption points in all Distribution Zones of the region, the “Radar” software complex was implemented, developed by order of Rosseti Centre, thanks to which violations in the amount of 1.8 million kWh were revealed this year alone. To plan and control bypasses of electricity metering points, the “Mobile Controller” application is used, which makes it possible to increase the efficiency of taking and verifying control readings, as well as automate other field work of electricians for electricity metering: instrumental checks, replacement of metering devices, etc. With its help, Tambovenergo’s crews monthly record and transmit readings of more than 13 thousand metering points to power sales companies.

“All projects that imply the commissioning of high-tech facilities, in the future, will significantly reduce the time to restore power supply and the number of outages, as well as reduce power losses. First of all, our consumers feel the benefit from this, so this idea, this experience should be developed and replicated throughout the region,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region.
