Igor Makovskiy congratulated the Belgorod power engineers on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the regional energy system

1 October 2021

For 60 years, the power engineers have been ensuring uninterrupted operation and advanced development of the power grid complex of the Belgorod region.

The main task of Belgorodenergo, as it was decades ago, remains a reliable power supply to industry, agriculture, social facilities and residents. The power engineers continue to develop the grid complex, construct new modern substations, upgrade grids, implement high-tech equipment and intelligent control systems, and expand the range of value-added services.

Today, the length of power transmission lines in the region is 52.5 thousand kilometres. 182 high-voltage power supply centres of 35-110 kV and 13.8 thousand transformer substations of 6-10 kV are operated and maintained. The maximum load increased to 1,103 MW, net supply - up to 6.3 billion kWh. For comparison, back in 1961, the length of 110 kV lines was only 751 kilometres, the maximum load was 114 MW, and the net supply of electricity was 743 million kWh.

The chronicle of Belgorodenergo’s achievements includes large-scale electrification of the region, commissioning of high-voltage lines and substations to supply power to industry giants, connecting grids to the Unified Energy System of the European part of the USSR, intensive growth of electrical loads, automation and modernization of the power grid complex.

“The history of Belgorodenergo is inextricably linked with the labour victories of dedicated professionals who are ready to work for the benefit of residents of the Belgorod region at any time of the day and in any weather. It is important that the current generation of employees strives to maintain the highest professional level set by their predecessors, remembers and honours their veterans, boldly approaches the solution of the most difficult and ambitious tasks. I sincerely congratulate the staff of the branch on this significant date, thank you for the conscientious work, preservation and development of the glorious traditions of the industry and wish you new achievements,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga region.
