Rosseti put into operation 5 digital facilities in the Centre and the Volga Region

28 December 2020

The work of 2 digital GCCs in Ryazan and Vladimir regions, as well as 3 substations in Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga regions was launched.

The solemn ceremony took place during the visit of Ryazanenergo’s GCC by Governor of the Ryazan Region Nikolay Lyubimov and Director General of Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy. The event was attended by Head of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. Vladimir Sipyagin, Governor of the Vladimir Region, Olga Ivanova and Sergey Morozov, Deputy Heads of the Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod Regions, joined the ceremony in a video-conference mode.

The total serviced area of the reconstructed Ryazan and Vladimir GCCs is 66 thousand square km. The Centres operate on the basis of modern intelligent information management systems for the power grid complex using the domestic operational information complex CK-11. The solution allows real-time monitoring of grid facilities that provide power to a total of about 2.5 million people.

The GCCs are equipped with automated workstations, digital communications, digital controllers for the state of metering devices, advanced energy metering solutions, vehicle monitoring tools, software systems for automated training and testing of personnel knowledge, etc.

Rosseti invested more than 1.5 billion rubles in the creation of 3 modern feeding centres. During the implementation of the projects, Russian equipment and the latest technological solutions were used.

The new digital facility in the Kaluga region - the 110 kV “Mikhali” substation worth 323.9 million rubles - will provide reliable power supply to industrial facilities in the region. Automated control of the main processes and full observability are provided, digital metering devices and modern microprocessor relay protection are installed. Information exchange is carried out on the basis of the international standard IEC 61850.

The modernization of facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region will allow to systematically improve the reliability of power supply to consumers. The energy facilities also fully comply with the concept of “Digital Transformation 2030”:

The 110 kV “Vyyezdnoye” substation will provide energy to 23 settlements, 3,823 residential buildings and socially significant facilities in the Arzamassky district, and will also create a reserve for further grid connection. The project cost amounted to 822 million rubles.

The 110 kV substation “Montazhnaya” (433 million rubles) will allow for the grid connection of the Federal State Institution “Montazh” plant of the Federal Reserve Agency for the Volga Federal District.

“This is another important and significant step in the digitalization of the power grid complex of the regions of Central Russia and the Volga Region. The expected effects from the functioning of the new GCC and substations are a decrease in the time for detecting and eliminating faults, a decrease in electrical energy losses and operating costs. Together with the leadership of the regions, we are trying to work for the future in order to ensure the advanced development of infrastructure for the socio-economic growth of the territories. Our priorities remain the unconditional increase in the reliability, quality and safety of power supply, as well as meeting the demand generated by our consumers,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
